Martin Carthy is unsurpassed as a performer of English traditional song
& dance music. It is impossible to over-estimate his influence on at least
two generations of singers & players. In the workshop pupils will work by
ear on a Morris tune & a song collected from Joseph Taylor. The
possibilities of CGCDGA guitar tuning will be discussed &
demonstrated.

tune ‘Lumps of Plum Pudding’ preferably in Martin’s tuning of
CGCDGA

13.30 Learn an accompaniment for
‘Creeping Jane’ as sung by Joseph Taylor (but not from his
recording).
15.00 Tea/coffee break
15.15 - 16.45
Discussion & demonstration of possibilities in the
tuning.
