PRESS RELEASE

PHIL BEER AT FAVERSHAM FOLK CLUB

20 FEBRUARY 2008

Phil Beer is making a welcome return to Faversham Folk Club at The Chimney Boy, Preston Street on Wednesday, 20 February.
Phil has made several successful duo tours with singer songwriter Paul Downes and the amazingly talented Deb Sandland but on this occasion he is solo. He is a talented fiddle, guitar and mandolin player as well as writing his own songs and tunes.
One half of Britain?s most successful acoustic duo, Show of Hands, Phil?s instrumental wizardry is well documented and has been utilized by countless artists over the years, the most notable being The Rolling Stones, Mike Oldfield and Steve Harley. He was for many years lead guitarist with The Albion Band and co-wrote many of their songs. He has also made many forays into both film and television music as well as finding time to produce and record albums for other artistes.
While having his feet firmly in the acoustic camp, he has kept his hand in with electric music over the last five years with an annual outing of the Phil Beer Band. These have become increasingly popular and are now packing venues on an annual basis.
Come along and see Phil, it?s bound to be a great evening.
