Hi All.

I'm very sorry about the delay in sending this but we have had a few technical problems with transferring the email account.  The main one being my own technical deficiency in such matters!

I would firstly like to thank John for passing the running of the club to me, which he would only do on the basis that I maintained the standard of the acts appearing - which of course I intend to do!

I would also like to thank all of you who attended on the 25th September for the warm welcome I received personally from every single one of you as John introduced me.  The sentiment expressed in keeping the club running was universal which, of course, I intend to fulfill and I know that I can rely on your continued support in this.

Thanks also to Roy and Alan for their help with the sound system and setting out.

I believe that the gig on the 25th could not have been bettered as a 'handing over' event and the wonderful performance by Ian Siegal left everyone stunned. He excelled from the moment he opened his acoustic set through the joining by his band to the inevitable encore.  We were very privileged to secure Ian so shortly after the release of his new album SWAGGER and I am proud to say that I had major input into this for the benefit of the club.

Moving to the next gig on the 30th October, we have Sam Kelly's Station House featuring vocalist Root Jackson.  I'm sure I don't have to say much about Sam who, I believe, is already familiar to the club through his association with Geoff Achison.  I have been lucky enough to play on stage with Sam when I played in the Blues Alive (Bishops Stortford) house band and it is quite an experience, I can tell you!.  Needless to say Sam, as well as being a lovely bloke, is a multi award-winning, world-class, drummer - but that is only part of the story, and the whole that is Station House is greater than any one component!  I can positively guarantee that you will be blown away by this band which encompasses blues as well as other aspects of roots and world music.  Check them out on www.sam-kelly.com

Tables and seats are going fast, there being a large pre-booking from the 25th!

Please also stand by for a mail regarding the re-instatement of the Maidstone venue.

Also, please could you let me know if you receive more than one of this message.

Thank you, once again, for your support.
