Now that the dust has settled after a fabulous Folk Week, we have all had a good sleep and a bit of a recovery period, you are probably wondering what on earth you are going to do with yourselves until next August?   Don’t worry – we’ve got some goodies lined up to get your musical taste buds tingling.  We shall be holding our annual out of season CEILIDH on 20th October this year – the Cock and Bull Band are always a big favourite so do come along and support us, and renew some Folk Week friendships.

In the past Folk Week has had some very successful evenings at the Theatre Royal, and we are delighted that we are again working with Michael Wheatley-Ward in his new venture – The Sarah Thorne Theatre Club – and we shall be putting on some great musical evenings at Hilderstone Theatre in Broadstairs. See www.sarahthorne-theatreclub.co.uk    for details of this, which we hope will be hugely successful.  Why not join the club which gives you a discount on all shows, advance booking privileges and the opportunity to support popular theatre and  music in Broadstairs.  Use it or lose it!

CEILIDH with the Cock and Bull Band  - Ceilidhs are FUN and never more so than when the fabulous Cock and Bull Band play their folk, rock, roots, jazz and funk fusion in an unorthodox stomping swirl of sound....one of the best dance bands around. Caller Pete Rees will guide you through the dances. An evening of great fun for everyone. Tickets £7 in advance from Broadstairs Folk Week 01843 604080 or £8 on door.
Saturday 20 Oct 07       Dance starts at 8.30pm
Pavilion on the Sands, Harbour Street, Broadstairs  Kent

CONCERT with KEITH PEARSON’S COUP DE GRASS  - An exciting mix of all that is great in Bluegrass and in Folk. The music ranges from fast, dazzling banjo, guitar and harmonica solos to ballads of exceptional beauty. Virtuoso instrumental performances, exquisite vocal harmonies, superb original song-writing, and a great deal of eccentric humour!

Tickets £9 advance 01843 256513 or £11 on door
Saturday 17 Nov 07      7.45pm
Memorial Theatre, Hilderstone, St Peter’s Road, Broadstairs

And look out for Mike West’s Truckstop Honeymoon on 17th May 2008!

Hope to see you at the Pavilion or Hilderstone.  You know it makes sense!

Best wishes

Kim
