"Arguably the finest finger-style acoustic guitarist on the planet" is how Martin Simpson was described by the Chicago Tribune.

They are not alone in heaping praise on this critically acclaimed English folk singer and guitarist and Electric Voices is delighted to be presenting him in concert for the eighth time at Guildford's Electric Theatre at 8.00pm on Friday 6th July.

This visit will coincide with the release of his latest album on the Topic label which almost certainly means that the concert will feature Randy Newman's "Louisiana 1927", traditional songs "The Granemore Hare" and "Little Musgrave", Leadbelly's "Duncan Brady" and Martin's beautiful arrangement of the hymn "When A Knight Won His Spurs".

The Martin Simpson concert is always the high point of the Electric Voices season and the riverside setting of the Electric Theatre makes it an evening to savour.
