Bonjour
Just a quick note before you all rush
of on holiday somewhere not wet! What is all this stuff about climate
change...wet Wimbledon's have existed forever!!
Firstly thanks to everyone who turned
up to support our display at the Folkestone Multicultural Festival - it stopped
raining just in time for us to do our bit and there were enough of us to make it
look interesting and fun. We got some onlookers up and dancing and we all
enjoyed it.Perhaps next year we can get a bit longer to strut our stuff. A big
thanks to Chris Walshaw and Richard Jones who stepped in last minute to play
their wonderful music for us to dance to.
Next...Don't forget to come
along to Broadstairs Folk Week in august. We are doing a dance workshop on Wednesday 15h Aug from
3.00-5.00 at Upton School with Meridian providing the music. It is much better
if we have experienced dancers there to help us show the novices how it's done
so please try and come along to help make it all go well. On the same evening
Meridian are hosting the evening Bal, again at the school from 19.30-22.30. So
time to let your hair down ,meet old and new friends and just have some
fun.
Next... On September 15th
we are again doing a spot at Deal Maritime
Festival...On the seafront close to the pier
between 1230 - 1400 we will be dancing for the public but encouraging them up
onto their feet to have a go. It was a lovely day last year with the opportunity
to sit and have a drink whilst watching other performers, so do try and get
along and help us put on a good show. The following day is Les Batons and to kick start us
after the summer break we have arranged for a French Group Chemins de Traverse to come and play for us. I
haven't heard them but am assured they are great... so don't miss out on the
opportunity to hear some great music.
I am off on holiday but expect more emails and
reminders when I get back!!!
Have a good summer
Steve
