This Monday 18 June, Faustus are our guests at Forest Folk,
North Boarhunt, starting 8 pm (doors open 7.30 om), tickets £10 (£8
members).
Faustus
are Saul Rose, Paul Sartin and Benji
Kirkpatrick and all three have been instrumental in the English
revival of the last ten years: Saul Rose is one of the
country’s finest melodeon players best known for his work with the
‘Kings of Calicutt’ and ‘Waterson: Carthy’. He continues to work with the
ceilidh bands ‘Random’ and 'Whapweasel', and with Eliza
Carthy. Paul Sartin is a hugely versatile and experienced musician (on
oboe, fiddle and vocals), counting Christ Church Cathedral Choir as well as Dr
Faustus amongst his past bands. As well as working with Faustus and Belshazzar's
Feast he is an integral part of Radio 2 Award winners Bellowhead; as is a
‘fretboard wizard’ Benji Kirkpatrick, who makes up the final third of
Faustus. Recently Benji has lent his talents to the Mercury nominated Seth
Lakeman, as well as the Oysterband Big Session and of course, Dr. Faustus. He
also plays in his father’s ceilidh band Mr Gubbin's Bicycle and is an acclaimed
solo performer (www.faustusband.com).
