A little fun this week.
Hardly Mozart in the top 30 at PopWorld http://www.popworldpromotes.com/pages/artists
If you have the time and inclination they would love you to pop in and vote
for them and maybe download a track to help them up the chart.
The Happy Frenchman in Folkestone is open again after a fire
which could have lost us one of Kents best live music pubs.
The place has been totally changed with new decor, new boss, new layout for
the bands and customers. Very soon the venue will also have a new name "The
Frenchman"
Very fresh and inviting, no more spit and sawdust. On the cards is a revamp
for the toilets as well, at last. As one lady said last night 'maybe we will get
some locks in the ladies, this time'.
It appears that the clientel has changed a little as well now there are no
dark corners to hide in.
Last night Kent's own top Rock Blues R&B band
"The Sharpee's" took the place by storm and had some likely
lads and some very funky ladies bopping away on the new dance area. Stand-in
drummer for the night was Phil Wilson from Mud and ex Sweet and
Tremeloes next time he will be in Folkestone will probably be with MUD at the
Leas in December.
Great sounds and interesting eye candy really made it a
good night out. The Frenchman is going to become more popular than ever.
Very good friends of mine will be appearing at The Chicago Rocks
Cafe in Maidstone later this month.
On 18th October The amazing New York band Marc
Teamaker and the Bombay Soul Shop are appearing here as a part of
their mini UK tour. I have Marc's 4 albums here and looking forward to dropping
a few beers with him and the boys.
25th October
Popular North Kent band Mood Reaction the real and original
White Reggae band will put on another of their great shows. Amazing to think
they were the first white reggae band to be signed by a Jamaican label.
Kingskin are part way through their tour to promote their
single, Last Ride Home, it will be available to download exclusively from
I-tunes on the 9th October!
