Landlord wanting new regular Folk Session
Dear Network Folk
I've had an enquiry from a landlord in Horton Kirby : North Kent nr.
Dartford, looking to
start a regular Folk/traditional music session in his pub.
Preferred day would be Thursday - but probably negotiable if everyone in
area is busy!
Frequency also open to discussion at the moment - I have suggested
Alternative weeks
to start with, but interested Session Leader/s might want more or less
... or even share with different genres on different days.(?)
There's an Old Timey/Bluegrass "open mic" club (Riverside Folk Club)
at nearby pub ,The Fighting Cocks, on Sunday nights.
I haven't turned up anything else in area on a quick search.
SO - c'mon guys - who's up for this?
There must be lots of peeps into the Tradition(s!) around the Rochester /
Dartford / Sevenoaks environs.
Lets get this new session up and running as soon as possible.
I believe the landlord might be able to pay some expenses/ small fee to
Session Leader / bands who'd like to play a session
there, particular in the early days to establish it, but I have not
discussed this with him.
If a Network member wanted to take this on board - an application to the
Start Up and Risk fund might be eligible towards identified
expenses.
Note: this small grant line is under a sub-committee of the SEFAN
Trustees - General Manager and Chair have no say in
the distribution of the 5 x £100 grants - so it's no good trying to bribe
me with chocolate or G&T's!).
Email me for the one-page application form.
