Subject: Concerts in Sevenoaks

News of two concerts as part of the Sevenoaks Summer Festival:

Friday 30 June 8pm at The Sevenoaks Playhouse:

Eliza needs no introduction to Folk South-East audiences.  Saul is one of the finest players of the melodeon or diatonic accordion and has often been featured with Eliza before, not least on her Mercury Award nominated double album Red Rice.  The pair will be touring later this year and have agreed to a special preview concert in memory of old friend John Smedley.  The support slot will be amply filled by John's own band PUGWASH.
Last year's concert with Brian Willoughby & Cathryn Craig plus Karen Tweed and Pugwash was an absolute treat so try not to miss this one.
Tickets, at £15, are available from the box office on 01732 450175

Saturday 1 July 7pm at the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Shoreham
Stephen will be visiting the UK especially to give this performance in the setting of Susan Haire’s new paintings on display under the collective title Spirit.
The qin is an ancient Chinese seven-string plucked instrument. Classical Chinese solos will be performed with traditional silk strings, metal strings and on the electric qin, for which this concert is the UK première.  Stephen Dydo is currently president of the New York Qin Society.  A classical guitarist as well as qin player, he has performed his music in concerts in the UK, Europe, China and the US.

After concert wine & refreshments in The Old Vicarage.
Tickets £10 (Students £7) from Sevenoaks Bookshop and from 01959 523108
