Subject: KEITH SUMMERS FESTIVAL May 19th-21st 2006

 Dear  J.B.W,
The Musical Traditions Club presents :

KEITH SUMMERS FESTIVAL May 19th-21st 2006

Keith Summers, recorder of traditional singers, editor of the original Musical Traditions Magazine and co-founder of the Club, was a good friend of ours who died in 2004. It was one of Keith’s last requests that some musical events should be held in his memory .   (For more about Keith, see the memorial page on Musical Traditions  < mustrad>  Internet magazine.)

The second Keith Summers Festival will be held over the weekend of 19th- 21st May 2006, at The King & Queen*.  The landlord has kindly agreed to let us have the use of the downstairs bar for daytime sessions as well as the Club Room. Food will be available Saturday and Sunday 12-5pm.

Guests :
Ιamonn σ Brσithe, a truly brilliant uilleann piper and singer, will be making his London debut.
We are delighted to present singers Patricia Flynn, Grace Toland , Brian Doyle, Jim McFarland, Jerry O'Reilly, Ellen Mitchell, Fred McCormick and many more.
On Saturday plus Sunday afternoon John and Katie Howson will be bringing a troop of musicians, singers and dancers from Suffolk , including Reg Reader, Ray Hubbard and Simon Ritchie. Catherine Perrier (exquisite French singer) and John and Michael Wright (jews harpers) will be joining us on Saturday through to Sunday evening. More guests to be announced..... We are also expecting several of last year’s guests to join us, plus a host of our regular musicians and singers.

A  new selection of Keith’s Suffolk recordings  will be launched at the Festival  (on the Veteran label )and a further selection will be issued later by Musical Traditions.

NB this will be a TICKET-ONLY (and members-only) event so please book now using the separate BOOKING FORM which follows. The event was a sell-out last year. Weekend and Friday tickets are expected to sell out very quickly. Weekend Tickets £25, or £6 per session.
