A motley
crew assembled from the flotsam and jetsam of the 1980s London rock scene will
be rowing a traditional Viking longboat from Calais to Dover
this summer to raise funds for the charity Task Brasil Trust.
Featuring members of such rock luminaries as Weapon, Praying
Mantis, Jagged Edge and Decimator the crew was put together three years ago to
compete in the annual Great River Race along 22 miles of the Thames from
Richmond to Greenwich.
This year, two members of
Kent band "Rhythm of Blues" have joined the crew.
