"The 27th Rochester Sweeps Festival takes place this weekend with a bigger profile than ever before.

There are three major concerts: Friday 28th April with The Miranda Sykes Band (last ever performance) and Martin Simpson;

Saturday 29th April with Swarb's Lazarus and Shooglenifty and 

Sunday 30th April with Fairport Convention.

Tickets for these concerts are just £14 each or you can buy a combined ticket for all three at £35.

In addition Steamchicken host a ceilidh on Saturday night and the Simon Care Trio on Sunday night at the Corn Exchange.

You can see German super folk stars Geyers and French band Chiens D'Mer in addition to a host of other performers.

There will be the biggest gathering of morris dancers in the world and plenty of chances to sing and play in addition to The Folk Factor - an attempt to discover new folk talent.
