Wood and
Lupton Folk Award We're pleased to say that Chris Wood and
Hugh Lupton were awarded the 'Best Original Song' Award for 'One in a
Million' at the 2006 BBC Folk Awards. Chris was nominated for three other
awards including Best Album. 'One in a Million' appears on Chris' solo
album 'The
Lark Descending'. The latest Lupton/Wood collaboration is
'Christmas
Champions', a piece on mummers commissioned by Radio
Three's Late Junction. Listen to the piece on
the Late Junction web page. Chris and Hugh will be
performing at the Stanza
Festival in St Andrews on March 18th.
Folk
Brittania Chris Wood will feature in this ongoing BBC 4
series on Friday February 24th in a live performance filmed at London's
Barbican Centre.
Live
Dates The EAC will be appearing at the Merlin Theatre,
Frome [Feb 18th], the Regal
Theatre, Worksop [March 3rd] and the Kirkgate Centre,
Cockermouth [March 4th]. Chris Wood's forthcoming solo dates include
Islington [March 9th], Sheringham [March 25th] and Chichester [March
28th]. He will be performing at The Blend Festival,
Stirling [March 16th], Oxford Folk
Festival [April 8th], Brighton

Offspring in a nationwide tour of our show, 'On English Ground'. The

Oxford Folk
Festival [April 8th] and Farnham

Summer
School The Eighth Annual EAC Summer School will take place
from July 24-8th at Ruskin Mill, Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. The course
will be led by Chris Wood and Robert Harbron and as will as string
players, this year's course will be open to players of other
instruments. More
information here. The debut performance of Methera, a new quartet
composed former summer school tutors and students Emma Reid, John
Dipper, Miranda Rutter and Lucy Knox, will take place at Ruskin Mill on
February 24th.
